Stop Chasing the Light. Start Creating the Scene.

Most photographers are at the mercy of the sun, the venue, the weather. The most captivating artists? They create their own. Join Master Photographer John Chandler for a transformative afternoon where we turn “bad lighting” into your greatest creative advantage.

What’s Inside:

• Scientific Precision, Artistic Freedom: Stop guessing your settings. We’ll master metering so you can walk into a “cave” and know exactly how to pull out a masterpiece.

• The Technical “Click”: Triggers and sync speeds shouldn’t be a headache. We’re making the tech second nature so you can stay in your creative flow.

• The Art of the Shape: There is where the magic happens. Move beyond flat, “flashed” images and learn to layer light to create the high-end, editorial depth your clients crave.

The Backdrops & Models:

• Models: Lilly & Abbie

• Sets: (1) Pink & Teal (2) Disco Ball Curtain (3) Blind

Bold Color. Deep Shadows. High-End Editorial.

Ready to push the boundaries of your portfolio? Welcome to Chroma & Contrast. This July, we are moving away from the "safe" and leaning into the striking. We’ve designed sets that celebrate bold color stories and dramatic lighting to give your work a breathtaking, high-end editorial edge.

Whether you’re capturing a branding story, a soulful maternity session, or a modern bridal look, these spaces are a gift for your creativity. Content Days are designed to give you a concentrated block of time to create your own marketing materials, so you can show your clients the incredible magic you can create in our studio.

THE VISION CASTING SECRET
We’re doing things a little differently! The full sets are a surprise, but we’ve released our Vision Casting renders—digital concepts of the bold designs we’re building—and curated color palettes to help you style your models. Photographers at this event will be the very first to share real images of these new designs, giving you an exclusive look that stands out.

Frequently Asked Questions

*As a note, our studio is a large open space, so boudoir is restricted on studio content days. Please schedule a seperate rental for boudoir content.

Join us for the debut of May & June’s sets — subtle elegance. Putting together soft, understated natural tones with quiet, refined elegance, this content day will introduce four beautifully crafted sets focused on branding, maternity, bridal, and family sessions. Content days give creatives using our space a longer, uninterrupted block of time to produce more polished, professional material for promoting upcoming sessions that showcase the new sets arriving in the studio.

As with our previous content day, images of sets will be released after the event, with only carefully curated color palettes and a few select details revealed beforehand. This means photographers joining us for this content day will be the very first to have an opportunity to publish images of the new studio designs, giving them an exclusive chance to showcase the look and feel of our refreshed creative space.

Clients & Models

The idea behind studio content days is to give you a meaningful jumpstart on advertising for upcoming sessions by creating a concentrated block time to capture images of your own to use in promotional advertising. With finding someone to model you have the option to sell sessions directly to clients or find someone to model for you. If you decide to sell sessions on a studio content day, the key is clear communication with clients so they know what to expect and feel comfortable with the format. Studio content days differ from regular bookings because there is a higher volume of people in the studio and multiple photographers working at once, so they often pair well with a discounted structure (for example, one or two complimentary images with the option to purchase additional files or offering short mini sessions). If you’d like to work with a model but don’t have someone specific in mind, please tell us — we do have a list of models who’ve contacted the studio and are happy to connect you!

Join us for the debut of March & April’s sets — a floral affair. Over 2,000 floral stems and four new sets thoughtfully designed to help photographers capture and promote sessions in March and April, these new installations emphasize floral themes ideal for Mother’s Day and Easter while also offering versatile options for other types of shoots, including family portraits, bridal sessions, professional headshots, and creative lifestyle photography. Content days give creatives using our space a longer, uninterrupted block of time to produce more polished, professional material for promoting upcoming sessions that showcase the new sets arriving in the studio.

After a full year of discovering and finding our groove, this studio content day is launching something new! Studio Layout During the Event. Designed to give a trade show feel, the center of the studio will be dedicated to display areas that provide an engaging opportunity to learn more about educators and explore stations offering resources and product information tailored specifically for photographers. Around the perimeter of the studio we’re installing five distinct shooting areas: four feature-rich sets designed to encourage instruction in posing and lighting techniques, plus one darker section equipped with V-Flats. The intent with this is to provide spaces where educators can demonstrate techniques and field photographers’ questions, giving photographers areas to experiment with new techniques and receive hands-on instruction and personalized feedback from experienced mentors.

Studio Equipment Featured During the Event. Have questions about V‑flats, gobos, or tethering? These studio features will be demonstrated and showcased in the networking side of the studio, with studio staff on hand and ready to answer any technical questions you might have.

Ticket Reservations. We have issued tickets based on arrival time and they are limited. The goal with this is to ensure the atmosphere feels more relaxed and casual, giving you a bit more breathing room to genuinely talk with and learn from the educators on-site.

Featured Educators

Set up in a trade show format to encourage natural, casual conversations, this educator showcase gives you the opportunity for more focused, meaningful one-on-one time to engage with local photographer mentors. Ask questions, explore techniques, and learn at your own pace.

Take your photography to the next level and gain an in-depth view of how mastering lighting can bring a new level of depth and emotion to your imagery.

From in-studio to outdoor conditions, understanding the core foundations of lighting and how its impacts your captures is just a small part of what this amazing workshop will uncover. With an expansive career spanning almost four decades, John has dedicated a large portion of his time and investment in teaching, from large instruction classes for PPA to one-on-one instruction. This workshop will focus on providing photographers with a hands-on experience targeted toward learning more about the diverse array of studio lighting setups like mount types, triggers and the use of speedlights, continuous lighting, hybrid units, and monolight flashes. From nuanced gradiants of light and various lighting patterns, discover ways to dramatically elevate your portraiture, transforming visuals from flatness to multi-layered incorporations of depth. Learn how to effectively match lighting modifiers with specific lighting sources and explore the essential concepts involved in low, mid and high key lighting.

Tailored with a portion of demonstration instruction, followed by hands-on learning with models, all lighting equipment, backdrops and modifiers will be provided to ensure you gain the experience needed to feel comfortable with a diverse range of lighting equipment.
