Host a Workshop
Our Innovative Workshop Programs
Designed to support the vibrant, ever-evolving local creative community — inspiring artists and nurturing their professional growth — our studio offers educators the opportunity to use our space free of charge for workshops, classes, and hands-on learning experiences.
Educator-Sponsored Workshop — This option is available to renters who have completed at least three rentals within the preceding six months and applies to workshops that are fully advertised and managed by the educator.
Studio-Sponsored Workshop — These workshops provide the full resources of the studio’s staff, technologies, and advertising network to support your creative projects. For each event we also offer the option to fully clear out the studio, supply refreshments on the day, and actively assist with financial resources and logistical support as they are needed.
Educator-Sponsored Workshops
What do you provide?
If you submit a request to host a workshop at our studio and are approved, we will provide the following amenities and support:
Use of our studio space as it is currently set.
Use of our lighting, props, and client closet.
What helps me to be approved?
Minimum of 3 Rentals Within the Last Six Months. All educator-sponsored workshop hosts must have completed at least three studio rentals within the preceding six months to ensure hosts are familiar with the space and have actively worked in the studio prior to teaching.
Open to All. A key factor in being approved is the number of participants and how open ticket availability is for other creatives. Our goal in providing our space is to encourage connections and the development of friendships within the creative community, so the more open and available a workshop is to creatives of different backgrounds and skill levels, the more likely it is that your request will be approved. We prioritize workshops that welcome a diverse range of voices as that openness directly supports greater collaboration and stronger community ties.
I’ve never hosted a workshop before. Is that okay?
Absolutely! The goal of our workshops is not only to help our local photography community but also to provide emerging creatives — those at the very beginning stages of what may become an educator-focused journey — with a supportive platform and practical opportunities to get started.
.
Wait, but how do you make any money for workshops?
We don’t as we prefer to invest our energy in things that truly matter. Workshops build an essential network for us, giving creatives the chance not only to learn about the studio but also to connect, engage, and grow more confident in using the space.
Why don’t you list non-studio sponsored events on the studio calendar?
While we recognize and celebrate that all educators bring passion and outstanding content to their sessions, we do not include educator-sponsored events — as we do not play an active planning or execution role — on our official calendar, in order to prevent any potential confusion and ensure clear separation between studio-hosted programming and independently organized offerings.
Is the workshop program exclusively tailored for photographers?
Not at all! Our workshop program is thoughtfully designed to cater to all types of creatives — including photographers, videographers, hair and makeup artists, and models — offering practical techniques, collaborative opportunities, and supportive resources to help every participant grow.

& One of the Following Must Apply
Minimum of Six Rentals in the Previous Six Months. All studio-sponsored workshop hosts are required to have had at least six rentals during the last six months, demonstrating regular studio use.
Large IG Following. Traveling in from out of town? We’d still love to hear your voice featured in the studio! We offer an exception to our minimum rental policy for creatives coming from farther away. Our only stipulation in these cases is that you have an Instagram following of more than 20,000 followers. This helps us confirm that you’re actively engaged in the creative community and that your presence is grounded in a strong foundation of experience and education.
I’ve never hosted a workshop before. Is that okay?
Absolutely! The goal of our workshops is not only to help our local photography community but also to provide early-stage creatives—those who may be considering an educator-focused path—with a supportive platform to begin exploring, developing, and sharing their teaching voice.
What do you need from me?
If approved, we’ll need a brief bio from you, a clear title for your workshop, and at least three concise descriptions outlining how you’d like us to promote your session. And naturally, your welcoming smile and hands‑on instruction on the day of the workshop!
Will I be paid?
Absolutely! Workshop hosts receive proceeds from all ticket sales, minus any processing fees that the studio covers. We handle all sales tax filings related to ticket revenue and will provide a 1099 at year-end if your annual proceeds exceed $600. Payments are processed through our accounts payable system, which makes setting up easy direct deposit quick and secure.
How is pricing for tickets determined?
We allow educators to set their own ticket prices. We also encourage educators to do a bit of market research with their audience (IG polls are great for this!) to gather feedback on what people are realistically willing to spend. With every workshop, the more value you offer — thoughtful content, useful takeaways, and clear benefits — the more likely you are to attract a larger group of engaged attendees.
Wait, but how do you make any money for workshops?
We don’t as we prefer to invest our energy in things that truly matter. Workshops build an essential network for us, giving creatives the chance not only to learn about the studio but also to connect, engage, and grow more confident in using the space.
Can I sell tickets through my own platform?
When we advertise and include a workshop on our studio calendar, we require tickets to be sold through our ticketing platform. This helps us ensure we know how many people will be in attendance, can answer attendees’ questions, provide refunds when needed, and manage any associated processing fees. Ticket volumes are listed online for events, so you can always keep track of how many tickets have been sold.
What topics are ideal?
Topics related to lighting, advanced editing, software applications, marketing, and effective posing techniques are the subjects we see most frequently requested. That said, don't be afraid to let your imagination soar and explore well beyond conventional boundaries. We always welcome and actively encourage the latest innovative techniques and practical, valuable information that can elevate both artistry and technical skills to new heights!
Is the workshop program exclusively tailored for photographers?
Not at all! Our workshop program is thoughtfully designed to cater to a wide range of creatives—photographers, videographers, hair and makeup artists, models, and other visual storytellers—providing useful instruction, hands-on practice, and collaborative opportunities.
