Before the first equipment bags are unzipped or the coffee station starts its morning hum, the light does something remarkable. It crawls across the white floor, climbing the cyclorama wall and settling into the corners with a softness that feels almost tangible.

In these quiet moments, it’s easy to see the studio for what it truly is: a vessel. It is 2,000-square-feet of possibility, waiting for a perspective to fill it.

We’ve watched so many of you walk through our doors: traveling from Raleigh, Wilmington, and beyond: bringing with you a unique “eye.” Some of you see shadows where others see highlights. Some of you find beauty in the way a cloth drapes over a chair, while others are drawn to the sharp, clean lines of our architecture.

It’s this diversity of vision that makes our creative community so vibrant. And it’s why we’ve decided to open up a new kind of invitation. We aren’t just a space for you to shoot; we want to be a space where your design voice is heard.

The Heart of the Program

We are thrilled to officially announce the Featured Artist Program

This initiative is designed to celebrate the architects of atmosphere: the photographers, stylists, and designers who understand that a great photo begins before the shutter clicks.

This is an invitation for creatives to step into our studio and curate a signature set that will live in our space, inspiring every creative who walks through our doors for a two-week residency.

The concept is simple: you bring the vision, we provide the canvas.

If your design is selected, you’ll be designing up to a 6 ft x 8 ft installation in one of our most coveted spots: the corner immediately following the front entrance. If you’ve been to the studio, you know the one — it’s the spot where the large window light is most generous, bathing everything it touches in a soft, ethereal glow.

The Vision: A Collaboration of Textures

One of the most exciting aspects of this program is the blend of resources. We have spent years curating the inventory of over 900 items: from mid-century modern furniture to delicate glass bud vases and textured macramé hangings.

As a Featured Artist, you will have full access to this library. You might choose to anchor your set with our modern cream armchair or create height using our white studio cubes. You could layer in the softness of our white cloths or the organic lines of our pampas stems.

But we also know that your personal collection often holds the “missing piece.” Whether it’s a vintage heirloom, a specific piece of fabric, or a custom-built prop, we encourage you to mix your own items with our inventory. This program is about your signature style, and we want to see it in its purest form.

A Gift to the Community

There is a beautiful, collaborative “catch” to this program.

At Von Creative, we believe the creativity isn’t just a finite resource; the more we share, the more we grow. When you design a set for the Featured Artist Program, you aren’t just designing it for your own portfolio. You are designing it for the community.

For the two weeks that your set is installed on our studio platform, it becomes a part of the studio experience. Anyone renting the studio during that time: whether they are shooting high-end editorial, a branding session, or a quiet portrait: will have the opportunity to use the set you’ve created.

It is a way to leave your mark in the world of inspiration and spark a fire of creativity in a fellow creator who might be looking for a fresh perspective.

Showcase & Recognition

We believe in honoring the artist behind the work. Beside every featured set, we will be placing a ‘Meet the Artist’ sign. This isn’t just a nameplate; it’s a dedicated space to showcase your creative philosophy.

It is an opportunity to demonstrate your skill as a set designer and stylist: a talent that is often just as valuable as photography itself.

Every selected artist also receives a $100 Studio Credit to use for their own future rentals. It’s our small way of saying thank you for contributing to the atmosphere of our collaborative creative hub.

This program is not restricted to professional photographers and is open to:

  • Stylists and Set Designers. Those who live for the details and know how to tell a story through objects.

  • Photographers. Who want to showcase their ability to create “worlds” within a frame.

  • Interior Enthusiasts. This who have a passion for spatial design and a “photo-pretty” aesthetic.

  • Local Businesses. Who understand the power that reach can have in showcasing their incredible products.

The Details at a Glance

  • The Space. A 6 ft x 8 ft footprint located in the prime window light corner by the front entrance on the platform.

  • The Rotation. Sets will cycle out every two weeks, providing creatives in our ever growing community with a stream of fresh inspiration.

  • The Materials. Use a mix of our 900+ item inventory and your own personal props.

  • The Recognition. A ‘Meet the Artist’ feature placed prominently by the front window and a featured placement on our IG.

  • The Reward. $100 studio credit.

  • The Spirit. A collaborative, community-focused program where are studio renters can utilize your design.

How to Apply

We’ve made the application process as simple as possible. We’re aren’t looking for a twenty-page pitch: just a clear sense of your aesthetic and what you hope to create.

We can’t wait to see how you reinterpret our walls. Whether it’s something moody and textured or bright and modern, your perspective is the ingredient we’ve been waiting for.
